We were commisioned to make a completely unique meeting table, to our clients design and specification. The table was to be produced from a single piece solid timber top, measureing 65mm thick and over 4m in length, and 1.3m wide. We search high and low and finally found a beautiful piece of ‘waney/live’ edge timber from English Woodland Timber in West Sussex.
The design of the piece was to appear floating through a wall with one solid hooped metal frame leg at one end and a ‘waterfall’ edge at the other. This one proved to be a long but fruitful journey
We started by making the metal wall and leg, all fabricated in our Bollington workshops. The table top was so large that all the work had to be carried out on-site in the Knutsford studio. We planed, sanded, routered, cut, glued and finished the beautiful table top. See our latest blog post for more information.
